Dassault Falcon 7X / 8X - business jets created by the French Dassault Aviation company at the beginning of the 21st century. The aircraft belong to Dassault's new generation of business jets, which should replace the Falcon 900.
Like their predecessor, they received a classic layout for the family with three engines in the tail. The main achievements of the new generation were an increase in capacity and comfort, as well as a range of about 11,000 km, which classified them as ultra-long-range business jets. At the same time, the Falcon 7X and Falcon 8X retained the advantages of their family: lightness, relative compactness and good takeoff and landing performance, which gives them greater operational flexibility compared to other aircraft of this class.
The Falcon 7X first flew in 2005. Falcon 8X, which took off in 2015, can be considered a deep upgrade of the first plane and is now the main one. About 400 aircraft of both versions have been delivered by 2024. They are used in both private and corporate aviation, as well as in government agencies around the world.

My dad flew this thing when Mom flew on it as a flight attendant.
As a young child in the 60’s, I flew many times from Brize Norton and Lynenam on RAF VC and Super VC 10….fantastic plane, very fast and very steep take offs….I am sure that some had seats facing backwards….at least I think so…I was age 5 to 8 at the time…flying to a from Cyprus…..oh those were the days…

If I were in the market, which I am not, the question I would ask is about cabin pressurization and relative humidity. In the B787 and the A350, I have found this makes the greatest difference to comfort on long flights.

There's no such thing as a generation plus fighter. You can't get a generation and a half into an aging airframe. I guess you could say that the hornet super hornet is actually 4.5 generation fighter because it is developed from a fourth-generation fighter to be competitive against low end fifth gen fighters such as Russia's felon and whatever China calls their junk. So Annette sense I guess it would be a 4 1/2 generation fighter, only if you look at it from the point of us the beginning as a just a regular f-18 hornet, he started at a legacy f-18 and went to the f-18 super hornet I could see where you could say that would be a 4 1/2 Jen, but I think it would need to be able to super cruise to actually claim a 4 and a half

The additional fins at the bottom are really cool and give them an even more menacing outline.
Boeing were able to re-use technology and fuselage cross section from 707 to create 727 and 737 meaning less tooling cost and more efficient manufacturing. The British never improved their manufacturing techniques and they build slower than Boeing or Douglas. Douglas and Boeing, under pressure by USAF, building B-47 in large volume while DeHavilland is literally building their jets by hand. Vickers struggled to fulfill BOAC orders and only giving others airline a trickle, a well engineered aircraft is not gonna work when competition like Boeing and Douglas can deliver a similar aircraft much sooner! Boeing and Douglas sacrifice engineering sophistication for ease of manufacturing and lower unit cost. Airbus finally figured out Boeing/Douglas technique of a lot on manufacturing techniques. The Soviet also learned not only to copy the Sidewinder missile, but also copy the manufacturing techniques for greater reliability.
Probably my favorite family of planes. So weird, so strange, so extreme, I love them.

the big problem with this plan was fuel. it went through fuel like a rocket. not much in flying time. and zero dog fighting or handling. it intercepted a bomber and shot off some missiles and headed back to base before running out of fuel

Tilt rotors can autorotate. Stop getting your info from social media. Not to mention, autorotation has not saved a multiengine military helicopter in the decades of their use.
Tupolev missed the chance to change its engines.
